Former special counsel Robert Mueller could be making a reappearance before Congress to defend his Russian collusion witch hunt. 

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham said that he will honor requests by Dems to allow the deep state dirty cop to testify about his costly fishing expedition that failed to lead to President Trump's removal from office. 

The South Carolina Republican was unimpressed by Mueller's nasty Washington Post column in which he ripped Trump's commutation of Roger Stone's prison sentence and defended his investigation despite overwhelming evidence that it was based on bogus pretenses. 

In a Sunday morning, statement posted on Twitter, Graham referred to the column as a sign that Mueller was "willing" and "capable" of answering questions before the committee if he can do so to the WAPO.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said on Sunday that he will agree to a Democratic request to have former special counsel Robert Mueller testify about his investigation into Russian election meddling and the Trump campaign.

“Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee have previously requested Mr. Mueller appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee to testify about his investigation," Graham said in a statement.

“That request will be granted," he added. 

The statement from Graham, which was also posted to Twitter, comes after Mueller published a Washington Post op-ed defending his team's findings on President Trump's associate Roger Stone after Trump moved to commute Stone's sentence.

Stone "remains a convicted felon, and rightly so," Mueller wrote.

He added that he felt compelled to "respond both to broad claims that our investigation was illegitimate and our motives were improper, and to specific claims that Roger Stone was a victim of our office. Stone was prosecuted and convicted because he committed federal crimes.” 

Graham referenced the Washington Post op-ed, saying that Mueller is "apparently ... willing-and also capable-of defending" the investigation.

The Washington Post column and the enthusiastic reception from the media show that the Mueller cult is alive and well despite the former special counsel's underwhelming report and disastrous testimony in the House last summer.

During an abysmal performance before the House Judiciary Committee, Mueller actually managed to make Joe Biden look lucid and when the curtain was pulled back, the vaunted special counsel was revealed to be a doddering old man who didn't even know what was in his own report. 

Mueller was savaged including this embarrassing exchange with Rep. Matt Gaetz:

Gaetz pummeled the hapless ex-FBI boss by focusing on the discredited dirty dossier from oppo-research firm Fusion GPS and scummy British spook Christopher Steele.

Mueller can't be upbeat about the prospects for another pummeling and now that he's a year old, it could be even more brutal now that Graham is prepared to give Democrats exactly what they want and to give it to them good and hard. 

Of course, Graham talks big then never backs it up but he is up for reelection this year.
