Last week, after months of delay the 2020 Major League Baseball season finally started although in a form that was unrecognizable to fans. 

Like the NFL and NBA, MLB went fully "woke" by partnering with the Marxist-inspired Black Lives Matter movement which was honored by teams before and during games. 

It was another incursion of toxic leftist politics into sports with the exclamation point being when resistance hero Dr. Anthony Fauci threw out the ceremonial first pitch in the season opener at Washington D.C.'s Nationals Park.

Now the season may already be on life support with the cancellation of two Monday games due to the state of mass hysteria over COVID-19 and the media is swarming like a flock of buzzards. 

The Miami Marlins called off their home opener against the Baltimore Orioles after eight players and two coaches were reportedly tested to be COVID-19 positive which led to the ripple effect of the Philadelphia Phillies who just played the Marlins to also cancel their game against the New York Yankees. 

And just like that, the MLB season is suddenly in limbo.

Two Major League Baseball games scheduled for Monday were postponed as coronavirus testing is underway, the league confirmed in a statement.

The Miami Marlins canceled their home opener against the Baltimore Orioles scheduled for Monday night after multiple members of the team tested positive for the coronavirus, according to sources who told ESPN.

"Postponing tonight's home opener was the correct decision to ensure we take a collective pause and try to properly grasp the totality of this situation," Marlins CEO Derek Jeter said in a statement.

The Marlins wrapped up a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies over the weekend, and as a precaution, the Phillies' Monday home game against the New York Yankees was also postponed, the MLB announced.

On Sunday, eight Marlins players and two coaches tested positive, sources told ESPN, after four other players had recently tested positive. The Marlins are in self-quarantine in Philadelphia, according Jeter's statement.

A jittery MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred denied that the two cancelled contests would lead to the league again stopping play.

Major League Baseball is concerned about the Miami Marlins' recent outbreak of COVID-19 cases, but it isn't yet enough to consider shutting down the season, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said Monday.

Appearing on MLB Network, Manfred said officials knew there would be positive tests at some point and its testing plan was built to handle an incident such as the Marlins' -- in which a total of 14 players and staff members tested positive.

"I don't put this in the nightmare category," he said. "We don't want any player to get exposed. It's not a positive thing, but I don't see it as a nightmare. We built the protocols to allow us to continue to play. That's why we have the expanded rosters. That's why we have the expanded pools of additional players. We think we can keep people safe and continue to play."

The cancellations will provide fuel for the purveyors of fear in the media who fought the belated commencement of the season and will now redouble their efforts to scuttle the young season and crush American morale less than 100 days before the election. 

It could be that tens of millions of fans may not miss MLB if Manfred caves to the coming pressure and calls off the season; not after the league's promotion of the divisive and hateful message of Black Lives Matter. 

The greatest obstacle to the continuation of the season? The teams are at the mercy of the mayors in Democrat-controlled cities like New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Seattle, Los Angeles, Boston and San Francisco who could implement travel bans and close their stadiums. 

But would anyone really miss it now that the league has made it known that you can't spell MLB without the letters BLM?
