MSNBC's Joe Reid Sides With China: Many Agree With Their "Statements"
August 8, 2020During an interview on Friday, far-left MSNBC host Joy Reid sided with communist China when she said that many people, including her, agree with statements that China is making.
While reacting to a comment from China where they claimed President Trump is unstable, Reid said, “Well, no kidding. There are a lot of Americans who believe that Donald Trump is unstable.”
Reid was joined by Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell and asked him, “What do you make of the fact that there’s all this other information too about Iran and China. Do you worry that that information is being included in order to get it past Donald Trump, meaning, have something in there to both-sides it so that people say, oh wait, there are also countries helping Biden. That is something that sort of sprang to mind when I heard that they’re talking, not just about Russia, but about these other countries. Am I being too paranoid about that?”
Later on during the show, Reid asked NBC News National Security Contributor Frank Figliuzzi, “Frank, we know that Russia is doing it again. They’re trying to add China and Iran. Do you take it seriously, this — the other two countries being added to it in order to balance it out, or do you think we still need to be focused on Russia?”
Figliuzzi replied by stating that America should take the threats from China and Iran “very seriously” adding that if China influenced the American election, “they would make Russia look like the junior varsity.”
On Russia, Figliuzzi said that “they have a track record” of breaking laws. He also said that American politicians should not politicize the threats, “and that’s the fear, the equivalency, the false equivalency that China likes Biden, therefore, it’s all balanced out is a very, very troubling, misleading, dangerous presumption. Because Russia is actually destroying and intervening and hacking and sending out social media propaganda. Whereas, it appears China is merely saying, you know, we really think Trump might need to go.”
Reid replied, “Right. Saying he’s unstable. They’re making statements, saying that he’s unstable and things like that. Well, no kidding. There are a lot of Americans who believe that Donald Trump is unstable.”
The segment from Reid was very similar to an interview that Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff also had on the network.
On Friday during an interview on MSNBC's "The Last Word," Schiff implied that China wanted former Vice President Joe Biden to win the 2020 election but quickly deflected to talking about his Russian conspiracy theories.
The comments came while Schiff was reacting to National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC) Director William Evanina’s recent comments on interference coming from Russia, China, and Iran in the 2020 election.

Schiff said, “These three actors are not the same in terms of their intentions, in terms of their actions, in terms of their capabilities. But, you know, clearly, the administration is trying to push out this line that China is the only concern, but if you look carefully at the statement that the ODNI issued today, it says China has a preference, but Russia is engaged in actions. And I think that the intelligence community needs to be more explicit about this and it can do so without compromising sources and methods. But clearly, the president wishes to blind himself and blind the country to what Russia is doing and indeed, at that same press conference today, when he was confronted with the intelligence community saying Russia is interfering to denigrate his opponent, he expressed disbelief and said he doesn’t care what anybody says.”
