Prosecutors Charge 19 In North Carolina With Voter Fraud
September 3, 2020Over the last few months, President Donald Trump has been railing against Democratic efforts to expand mail-in voting, arguing that the process allows for voter fraud.
While Democrats and their allies in the media claim there's no proof to the president's claim, prosecutors in North Carolina would argue otherwise.
According to The New York Times, federal prosecutors in North Carolina announced voter fraud charges Wednesday against 19 non-citizens accused of illegally casting a ballot during the 2016 election.
Nine of the 19 were also charged with falsely claiming American citizenship to get on voter rolls.
A Mexican citizen charged with illegal voting was also charged with fraud and misuse of visas and other documents, which could result in him facing up to 26 years in prison.
All of the other noncitizens face maximum sentences ranging from one to six years and maximum fines of $100,000 up to $350,000.
The report added:
Brief charging documents provided few details about any of the allegations. Many defendants did not have an attorney listed in court records.
The Associated Press attempted to contact all defense attorneys who were listed, reaching only two.
Helen Parsonage, who is representing three of the defendants, declined comment on the merits of the charges but said her clients would be “vigorously defended.”
“These cases are clearly timed for partisan political purposes,” she wrote in an email.
Another attorney, J. Scott Coalter declined to comment on his client’s behalf but noted he found it “rare to have the U.S. attorney for the Middle District handling misdemeanor cases.”
This is just more proof that voter fraud does exist.
"Nineteen individuals have been charged with voter fraud and, in some instances, related offenses, announced United States Attorney Matthew G.T. Martin for the Middle District of North Carolina," the Justice Department press release stated.
"According to court charging documents, each defendant voted in a federal election in 2016. One defendant also voted in 2018. Non-citizens are not eligible to register to vote or to vote in federal elections," it added.

Every time the president mentions this, the media "fact-checks" him and claims he is lying but this serves as another example of voter fraud taking place in America.
It doesn't matter if 20 or 2,000 people vote illegally -- it's against the law and many would agree they should face justice for their actions.
