Rand Paul Calls For Trump To Revoke Backstabber Bolton's Security Clearance
February 2, 2020Now that Democrats have failed miserably in their efforts to put John Bolton on the stand, the mustachioed neocon may be about to find out that paybacks are hell.
On Saturday, Republican Senator Rand Paul called for the revocation of Bolton's security clearance, ripping the former aide for using it for the purpose of profit.
In what was clearly an attempt to stick it to President Trump in order to retaliate for his firing as national security adviser, Bolton wrote a tell-all book of which portions that supported the Dem case for impeachment were conveniently leaked.
VOTE NOW: Is Trump Worthy Of A Second Term?
The night before Trump's defense team was to present their case, the New York Times published excerpts from the manuscript for "The Room Where It Happened" in a bid to pressure wishy-washy GOP senators to vote for witnesses.
But Bolton's gambit failed and other than Mitt Romney and Susan Collins, Republicans refused to budge thereby depriving the disgruntled career bureaucrat his opportunity to become a hero of the resistance.
Senator Paul's tweet cited a blistering article from Real Clear Politics in which it was reported that Bolton's clearance would almost certainly be yanked in the aftermath of his leaked manifesto.

Bolton now faces the wrath of not just Trump but his legions of loyalists for volunteering to testify against the president in the impeachment trial, thus bolstering Democrats’ arguments that the president threatened Ukraine’s president with a quid pro quo over U.S. aid to extract a commitment to investigate Joe Biden and his son’s dealings in that country.
Seeing his security clearance revoked is an almost certainty for Bolton once the impeachment trial is over, according to two government officials who spoke on condition of anonymity, as well as legal experts – all of whom say Bolton could face additional fallout for his role in the impeachment drama this week.
Several media outlets have reported that the irascible veteran national security official circulated a draft manuscript of the book containing the quid pro quo arguments to close associates before delivering it to the White House Records Management Directorate for pre-publication review, as required, and could face criminal prosecution if proof he did so surfaces.
“If your manuscript includes classified information, then you’re committing a felony by passing it around,” a former White House official told RealClearPolitics.
By stabbing the POTUS in the back, Bolton burned through any accumulated good will that he may have had with Trump supporters who cut him slack despite his bad reputation as a "kiss-up, kick-down sort of guy" by a former Bush administration Intel official.

Last week, Trump blasted Bolton's book as nasty and untrue in addition to accusing him of including classified national security material.
It's nearly a slam dunk that Bolton will soon testify in front of more of Adam Schiff's secretive Soviet-style hearings in the House as Dems look to recover from their major defeat and he'll be highly sought after by the anti-Trump media on his book tour.
But that is assuming that he doesn't face serious consequences if he indeed broke the law by leaking classified information to the NY Times - all of that advance sales revenue would be eaten up by lawyer fees.
Over the first part of the 21st century, there have been few scoundrels who have risen to Bolton's level and it's about time that he paid the piper.
