Romney Boasts That Other Republicans Will Side With Dems Over Bolton
January 28, 2020Failed GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney is basking in his moment of glory in the Senate by abusing his position to stick it to President Trump.
On Monday, Romney boasted to reporters that the leaked excerpts from disgruntled former national security adviser John Bolton's book would be the icing on the cake in granting Dem demands for witnesses.
In a shout out to his fellow Trump hater, Romney told the press that “It’s pretty fair to say John Bolton has relevant testimony,” in a sign that the Senate phase of the impeachment may not be dispensed with as quickly as many predicted.
URGENT POLL: Do you support Trump against Dem impeachment efforts?
Romney has always backed a parade of witnesses who would smear Trump while denying those critical to the president's defense like Hunter Biden, the "whistleblower" whose name is forbidden to mention, Alexandra Chalupa and Adam Schiff.
Now he is hoping that the suspiciously timed Bolton leak will be what it takes to give political cover to Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and other RINO senators who dislike Trump and should have a "D" next to their names.
Via The Hill, Romney: "'Increasingly likely' other GOP senators will support hearing from Bolton":
Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) said on Monday that he believes it is more likely other Republican senators will support subpoenaing former national security adviser John Bolton in the wake of an explosive New York Times report.
Romney said it’s “increasingly apparent” that the Senate should hear from Bolton after the Times reported that he claims in his forthcoming memoir that President Trump tied Ukraine aid to help with investigations into Democrats.
“It’s pretty fair to say John Bolton has relevant testimony,” Romney told reporters. "I think it's increasingly likely that other Republicans will join those of us who think we should hear from John Bolton."
Mitt's long running grudge against Trump - who he once begged for support from during his doomed White House run - has run the gamut from denouncing him to actively recruiting candidates in 2016 to oppose him to impeachment.
It is possible that some of Romney's motivation is derived from the possibility that if he is able to help drag out the trial for months, that he can convince enough Republicans to join him to remove Trump from office and give him another shot at the presidency.
Romney has been consumed with envy and jealousy ever since the bombastic outsider made mincemeat out of 16 establishment Republicans and then pulled the upset against the unbeatable Hillary Clinton.

He also likely longs for another chance after blowing a winnable election to a weakened Obama and subjecting the country to four years of degradation, worsening race relations and the weakening of America's position on the world stage.
However, Mitt has more of a shot at becoming president of Fantasyland because he is already hated by millions and according to a recent poll, has been losing popularity in his home state of Utah now that voters realize that they made a huge mistake in electing him to the Senate.
Like Bolton, Romney is a rat with a vendetta and both are looking to settle scores with President Trump.
