Romney Joins Dems; Attacks Trump Over Communting Of Stone's Prison Sentence
July 11, 2020Senator Mitt Romney has predictably joined his Democrat friends in attacking President Trump for the commutation of Roger Stone's prison sentence.
The failed Republican presidential candidate whose vendetta against Trump has totally consumed him decried the act of clemency as "historic corruption" in a bitter outburst from his Twitter account on Saturday morning.

Romey has had a king-sized ax to grind with Trump ever since the bombastic billionaire businessman and political amateur worked his way through sixteen pro-establishment GOP candidates like Clint Eastwood in the climactic sequence of Pale Rider.
Mitt lacked the stones to climb into the ring with Trump and instead worked desperately with other Never Trumpers to swing the election to Hillary and has spent the past four years throwing a hissy fit over the results of the 2016 election.
And once again, just as he did during the impeachment farce, Romney has thrown in with the Dems over Trump's sparing of the elderly Stone who was the victim of a sick political persecution from what could have been a death sentence.
Via The Salt Lake Tribune, "Sen. Mitt Romney calls Trump’s commutation of Roger Stone: ’Unprecedented, historic corruption'":
Sen. Mitt Romney on Saturday morning blasted President Donald Trump’s commutation of longtime confidant Roger Stone, calling it “historic corruption.”
Trump on Friday night commuted the prison sentence of Stone, who was unanimously convicted by a federal jury of lying to Congress and obstructing justice. Stone was set to begin a 40-month prison sentence Tuesday
Romney, a Utah Republican who voted to convict Trump of abuse of power in the Senate impeachment trial, was one of the first Republicans to speak out over Trump’s use of his executive authority to help Stone.
“Unprecedented, historic corruption: an American president commutes the sentence of a person convicted by a jury of lying to shield that very president,” Romney tweeted early Saturday.
Mitt once again looks to get love and validation from a media that smeared and despised him when he choked like a dog against Barack Obama in 2012, gifting the most radical president in American history with four more years to undermine the nation's institutions.

With Democrats and their cohorts like Romey's heads exploding all across the Twittersphere, the POTUS weighed in on the clemency for Stone on Saturday morning.
Per Trump:
"Roger Stone was targeted by an illegal Witch Hunt that never should have taken place. It is the other side that are criminals, including Biden and Obama, who spied on my campaign - AND GOT CAUGHT!"
That will only further infuriate Democrats and their buddy Pierre Delecto.
Romney was so haunted by his rejection by voters followed by Trump's stunning upset win that he has chosen to spend his life in a toxic state of bitterness and what some would see as self-loathing.
As a wealthy man, Mitt could have spent time with his family and conducted himself as an elder statesman instead of a pathetic proxy for an anti-American enemy party that has declared war on a legitimately elected president.
He instead ran for retiring Orrin Hatch's Utah Senate and once in the Senate, Mitt has frequently sided with Democrats and like the deceased John McCain, regularly discarded any semblance of conservative principle if the chance arose to stick it to President Trump.
As the late, great H.L. Mencken famously put it - "imagine a gentleman and you will have imagined everything that he was not."
