In the following area, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
- Education funding must be addressed because it currently places most of the burden on small towns. The state needs to provide more funds to ensure a quality education, the current rate is not sufficient. This could be paid for with legalization, regulation and taxation of cannabis. Restoring the state education fund from lottery could also help. Allowing school districts to negotiate their own health care costs as a collective would reduce districts' costs.Opioids: education, intervention, and help for the addicts with strong penalties for the dealers. Increased funding for rehabilitation and mental health clinics. Paid w/cigarette & alcohol tax.
