TRIGGERED! Left-Wing Media Group Begs FCC To Censor Trump Press Conferences
April 2, 2020FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr came forward with a warning about a highly influential media group named ‘Free Press” on Thursday, who he claims are actively seeking to “weaponize” the government against President Trump and conservative media outlets. The far-left media group filed a petition to the Federal Communications Commission calling for widespread censorship of President Trump and his coronavirus press briefings earlier this week.
Brendan Carr claims “this is a sweeping and dangerous attempt by the far left to weaponize the FCC against conservative media outlets and elected officials,” adding that “they want to turn the FCC into a roving speech police empowered to go after the left’s political opponents.”
Check out what The Federalist reported below:
An influential far-left media group has petitioned the Federal Communications Commission to develop a wide-ranging censorship plan of President Donald Trump’s press conferences. “Free Press,” the group calling for the censorship of broadcasts of the press conferences, says in its petition that it’s a “life and death” issue. They are asking the FCC to limit the public’s right to hear directly from the president about the federal government’s handling of the global pandemic, that any broadcasts of his press conferences come with a pronounced disclaimer, and that media figures with different political views than the progressive organization be further censored.
In addition to asking for unwarranted censorship of critical information going to the public, Free Press claims that stopping coverage of President Trump will actually be “preventing substantial public harm.”

The Federalist continues:
To make their case, they cite President Trump’s discussion of an anti-malarial treatment that some doctors had been using to treat COVID-19. He specifically said that even if it didn’t work as treatment, it had been used for so long in humans, that the risk was low. “It’s been around for a long time, so we know if things don’t go as planned, it’s not going to kill anybody,” he said.
Free Press argued that a man without COVID-19 who died after ingesting fish tank cleaner at home, outside the direction of any medical professional, was a victim of Trump’s remarks and that therefore its censorship plan should be adopted. Citing anti-Trump activists who blamed Trump for this death, Free Press called Trump’s support for the treatment “deadly disinformation.” The group also claimed that Trump had engaged in a “mischaracterization of the efficacy” of hydroxychloroquine.
On Thursday, thousands of doctors across the world declared hydroxychloroquine the ‘most effective therapy’ for the coronavirus, completely contradicting the assertions made from the media group.
Whether the new attempts to attack President Trump have something to do with his rising approval ratings due to a high number of Americans seeing him unfiltered on the television every day or not is undetermined, but some media outlets have portrayed a similar course of action to hurt President Trump.
Both MSNBC and CNN announced they will no longer be covering the president over his coronavirus “lies,” and speculation has led many to believe they did so because of a correlation between President Trump approval rating and his daily coronavirus press briefings.
In March, President Donald Trump managed to obtain a record-breaking approval rating at 49%, despite the coronavirus pandemic and all of the Democrats who were hoping for his demise throughout the recent weeks.

While influential Democrats continue to make inexcusable actions just to hurt the image of our president all the while depriving the American public of necessary information, this number is only expected to rise in the future.
