Trump Administration Will Announce Huge $35 Million Housing Grant For Trafficking Victims
August 4, 2020In the general flow of our day-to-day lives, most Americans may not realize that the country, and moreover, the world is in the midst of a human-trafficking crisis. President Donald Trump made a point to take a stance on the issue from his first ten days in the White House, signing an Executive Order to block the property of anyone involved in crimes against humanity - including human-trafficking. President Trump even assigned a special task-force to help organize intelligence and combat the issue.
If you're unfamiliar with these topics, here is some background information from President Trump:
Since that order, the Trump Administration has put thousands of criminals behind bars, many of them guilty of some of the worst crimes imaginable. President Trump, with the assistance of the Department of Justice under Bill Barr, has locked up more than twice the amount of criminals involved in the human-trafficking industry than any other president or administration.
Knowledge of this industry is slowly sweeping the nation by storm. You probably didn't hear that there have been large-scale protests against Human-Trafficking and pedophilia around the country in the last couple of weeks, including one in Hollywood and the CNN building. Thanks to the Trump Administration, with special thanks to Bill Barr and Senior White House Advisor, Ivanka Trump, one of the most foul and lucrative industries in the world is becoming publicly known.
Back in January, Ivanka Trump began a much more aggressive approach to the issue.
In a White House Conference, Ivanka made the statement:
"Human trafficking is believed to be one of the largest criminal activities in the world—with an estimated 24.9 MILLION people trapped in forced labor, domestic servitude, or commercial sex trafficking.
It is also, sadly, one of the most lucrative industries world-wide, generating over 150-billion dollars in annual profit. This issue has no demographic limitations and exploits society's most vulnerable - often women and children, and particularly targets runaway and homeless youth."
This morning, the Trump Administration made a huge announcement in the fight against this horrible industry. According to Breitbart, who had reporters present at the time of the announcement,

"The White House on Tuesday will announce a $35 million grant to help fund housing grants for victims of human trafficking. The grants will be delivered by the Office for Victims of Crime, a component of the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs. They will go to 73 different organizations across the country that offer housing assistance, transitional housing, and housing cost assistance."
This is a major step in the right direction for the war on Human-Trafficking. Victims, even in the wake of Covid-19, will now have many more resources available to them to get back to a normal, successful life.
At the press-briefing, Ivanka made the statements,
“In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, combating human trafficking in the U.S. and abroad is critical work. DOJ’s grant recipients are on the frontlines of this fight, ensuring that survivors across our country are afforded safe and stable housing and empowered with the support and resources they need to rebuild their lives. We will not rest until we’ve stopped every last human trafficker and liberated every last survivor."

This policy and money allocation for housing for these victims is great news from the White House this morning.
As more victims of the human-trafficking industry are rescued and more criminals put behind bars, we'll be sure to keep you updated.
