Washington Post Praises ISIS Founder As an "Austere Religious Scholar"
October 27, 2019President Donald Trump confirmed the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi during a press conference at the White House on Sunday morning.
“Al-Baghdadi is dead," the President started as he continued by mentioning how the United States brought the world's biggest terrorist to justice.
While the American people celebrated and most news outlets properly released the details, the Washington Post tried wording their headline in a way that would minimize the significance of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's death.
“Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Islamic State’s ‘terrorist-in-chief,’ dies at 48" the Post originally titled the article.
The Daily Wire reports: "To start, the headline makes is seem like he simply died of an illness rather than in response to a raid conducted by the U.S. military, but at least it calls him a terrorist and notes the gravity of his death."
Shortly after they released this title, the Washington Post decided to change it to something less harsh.
“Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, austere religious scholar at helm of Islamic State, dies at 48" the Post praised of the former head of ISIS.
They had it right the first time.

The Daily Wire notes the total insanity of the Post's title. Check out what they said:
Just imagine the Post claiming Osama bin Laden was an “austere religious scholar.” You can’t, because that’s not how the Post described him after the raid that killed him during the Obama Administration. The headline for that obituary read: “Osama bin Laden killed: Leader of terrorist group al-Qaeda was 54.”
Yet when the leader of a terrorist organization dies under President Donald Trump, the word “terrorist” gets removed.
The Post’s headline on the al-Baghdadi obituary appears to have been changed yet again since Ali posted screenshots, as it now reads: “Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, extremist leader of Islamic State, dies at 48.”
The Post’s tweet of the article and its appearance on “related links” on its website still use the original headline for now.
The insanity doesn't end at the title. The Post even praised the ISIS founder throughout the aritcle as an “austere religious scholar with wire-frame classes” and adds that he “maintained a canny pragmatism.”
“Acquaintances would remember him as a shy, nearsighted youth who liked soccer but preferred to spend his free time at the local mosque,” the Post added.
President Trump's tone toward al-Baghadadi was much different than the Washington Post's when describing his death.
“He died like a dog. He died like a coward. The world is now a much safer place,” Trump said. According to the President, al-Baghdadi was chased into a tunnel by United States Special Operations troops and a group military dogs when he committed suicide.
He died “whimpering and crying and screaming all the way,” Trump continued. “He died like a coward…The thug who tried so hard to intimidate others spent his last moments in utter fear, in total panic and dread, terrified of the American forces bearing down on him.”
