A Washington store is investigating after video of an unmasked man appearing to be assaulted inside a Yoke's Fresh Market in Spokane went viral, according to local NBC News station KHQ.

In the video, which was shared numerous times on Facebook, a man who says he is not wearing a mask due to a medical condition is confronted and shoved by a man who appears to be a Yoke's employee. The alleged employee then appears to throw the man's phone to the ground.

KHQ reported the situation, which began inside of the grocery store, then escalated in the parking lot. In the video, the unknown man who may be an employee is seen throwing an object at the maskless man, which hits him in the head.

"We have been made aware of the event that took place yesterday evening at our North Foothills location. It is important to us that we create a safe place for our guests and our associates. We are in the process of collecting information and speaking with those involved so we can understand exactly what happened before we take appropriate action. Thank you," Yoke's said in a statement to KHQ.

Individuals with health conditions or certain disabilities are exempt from wearing face coverings under the state's mask mandate, according to the Washington State Department of Health.

The CDC in July urged the public to wear masks to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
