WATCH: ‘The View’ Goes Off The Rails As Screaming Match Ensues Over RBG
September 21, 2020On Monday's episode of "The View," co-host Whoopi Goldberg was forced to call a timeout after the other hosts engaged in an all out shouting match over Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's replacement.
The show started with the hosts talking about their memories of Ginsburg and how she influenced their lives. Things took a catastrophic turn however when the group started talking about Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his plan to replace Ginsburg before the election.

The Daily Caller reported:
Sara Haines began with a clip of Republicans explaining in 2016 — when McConnell denied a hearing to then-President Barack Obama’s nominee Merrick Garland — why an election-year vacancy should not be rushed.
“So I hear a lot of these politicians referring to the people that put them in office, and the people should be heard,” Haines said. “Well, they would be heard on November 3.”
Haines went on to say that, especially in the context of the coronavirus pandemic and the fact that many American families were still really feeling the impact of both the virus and the economic fallout, Congress should be focused on things other than Supreme Court confirmation hearings.
“In the shadow of what’s been left behind after Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s passing, the irony of what type of human she was and what we’re seeing in our politicians is disheartening,” Haines concluded.
Meghan McCain then jumped in to set the record straight.
“But at the same time, you have people on the left that are screaming that they’re going to pack courts and create violence and you’re going to see chaos that we’ve never seen if Mitch McConnell does this,” Meghan McCain fired back. “Everyone is behaving badly across the board.”

McCain continued by noting that almost 50% of Americans identify as pro-life which may encourage more people to vote in 2020 if their vote was dependent on getting another conservative justice on the Court.
“For people that are pro-life, not never-Trumpers who got rid of their policies and every principle they ever had, for people like me, it is a meat and potatoes issue, much like guns. It will get people out, period,” she said.
“I’m saying —” Joy Behar said interrupting as usual.
“One thing that just —” Haines said, also jumping in.
“Okay,” Goldberg said as she tried to quell the escalating argument.
“Without slandering some of the names we’re seeing, judge Amy Coney Barrett said something that should scare all of us,” Haines said. “‘A legal career is but a means to an end —'”
“I would be very careful slandering her, Sara,” McCain fired back. “Before she’s even —”
“I’m not,” Haines claimed. “No —”
“This is what I’m talking about with the Kavanaugh stuff,” McCain said.
“Meghan, please just give me —” Haines said again, as they continued arguing.
“Everybody, stop!” Goldberg said as she cut the show off.
